MYCUBE Star Awning System

One of the difficulties with a roof top tent is the lack of integration with the rest of the vehicle as a single uniform camping system.

We took this requirement seriously at Kimberley when designing our roof top tent. Our MYCUBE system has an optional standalone Star Awning which unfolds in less than a minute and integrates with our MYCUBE roof top tent:

• Star Awning weighs around 6kg and can be opened independently
• It creates a “living” area under cover
• You can access the rear of the vehicle under the protection of the awning.
• You access the MYCUBE roof top tent from under the awning
• You can have a comfortable table and chairs under the awning
• Do all of this with the privacy of canvas mesh walls

The coverage area is Star shaped semi circle across the rear of the vehicle of 1800mm radius and the area under the MYCUBE floor to give an area under cover of 8.6sq metres. That’s nearly the equivalent of a 3m x 3m tent.

In addition, the end wall can be unzipped and pulled out for additional coverage of approx 6 sqm

The Star awning can be carried on the rear of the vehicle as shown in the photo above but it will protrude on the drivers side. Although this may be inside the guard width, it will look uneven. We recommend to store the Star awning in the vehicle. However for short travel it generally can be carried on the back.

The design is a highly efficient space with the feeling of a comfortable room.
