Vehicles with rain gutters.
|
|
|
A
rain gutter mounted roof rack will work on just about all vehicles
with rain gutters. You may have to change the length of the cross-bars
you are using depending on the width of your vehicle, but more than
likely, you can take the rack off 1 vehicle and put it on another.

Gutter-less vehicles.
|
|
|
This
type of vehicle typically has “aero doors”: doors curve to
meet the roofline with no external protrusions. The roof rack for this
type of vehicle consists a leg used which are usually generic in
design and made to work on different types of vehicles, whereas the
straps are made to fit on specific vehicles.

Vehicles with factory roof rails.
|
|
|
More
and more wagons and lately a growing number of 4WD's have rail style
roof racks available as an option from the manufacturer. However, the
majority of these roof racks are designed strictly for looks and not
for function. In order to make the roof rack work, you will need to
add a cross-bar kit.

Vehicles with factory mount points.
|
|
|
Some
gutter less vehicles have factory provided points within the roof
design of the vehicle, which makes for ease of installation in these
factory provided points.

Aerodynamic design radically reduces drag which improves fuel efficiency.

Aerodynamic drag testing
In wind drag testing conducted at the University of Canterbury’s engineering school, Hubco’s roof rack crossbars were found to perform significantly better than the crossbars on our competitors’ roof racks.*
The Pro Rack Whispbar™ crossbar produced 69% less wind drag than the Thule bar, 62% less drag than Rola’s crossbar and 42% less drag than the previous Hubco product, the S-Bar. This result confirmed the intensive research into aerodynamic drag reduction that we have been engaged in for the past decade.
*Testing conducted January 2006
Independent testing has found that the Whispbar™ generates less noise than the competition**.
