Mount on Vehicle Roof or Canopy

With Single and Dual Cab Utility Trucks, the dilemma is whether to mount on the roof of the cab or the canopy.

You can go either way with some roof top tents like the MYCUBE. Being able to change has advantages.

On Cab Roof

On Canopy

Cant use the integrated awning like the Star Awning and 270+ degrees of canvas mesh walls, as the canopy is behind the rear of the MYCUBE

Can you secure regular roof rack bars on the canopy with clearance underneath them so that the mounting brackets can be secured?

Can still take kayaks or surfboards as well as some roof top tents like MYCUBE

Will the canopy take the static weight of the resting load?

When an integrated awning like the Star Awning is fitted and 270+ degrees of canvas mesh walls, will the rear canopy lid open up and hold in position with the awning on top of it?

Possibility with both

Depending on the weight limitations of the vehicle, it may be possible to have a roof top tent on both if their weight is kept at the minimum (72kgs for both with MYCUBE) plus roof racks.

The rear unit could be purchased without the deflector shield and mounted in a different direction.
